Eciton Burchellii are one of the many species of ant. But this species is the considered the archetypal species of the term "army ant", which has become its common name, and one of the most heavily investigated of all ant species. Eciton Burchellii Distinct in its expansive, highly organized swarm raids and the capability to create bridges with its on body, to get from one point to the other.
